Just canoeing? No way! We’ve got a Photowalk… on the water. Not just for getting the ultimate perspectives and lots of fun were guaranteed, but this time a little fitness. We made it about 10 miles through the inner city channels through Kreuzberg, Neukölln and the river Spree in Treptow. Finally we could embark on this Metroblinks Urban Explorer event entirely new ways. Would you call this Waterway-Photography now (it’s not really Street Photography)?
When this tour was for all tastes: Wild romantic with abandoned industry (what a real man loves), coupled with green refuges, recovered by nature. For the (grown-up) children it turned into a pirate’s adventure where we followed the pathways of the urban natives.
Truly a little stubbornness was required. 6 hours on the water… For a photographers trip it was a challenge. What if I didn’t carry my waterproof pocket camera (lovely Kodak Playsport) with me? The yield would have been very low.
I have to say that you have other troubles in a canoe, than just worrying about your DSLR to get it into position … our priority was on the safety of all participants and the equipment. Of course, we have had the right clothing and some water protection bags in place but a canoe is not a very safe place for DSLR cameras, when you get them out of the waterproof bags…
The weather is always good for a surprise … We had full sun, wind and streaming water, sometimes from the front, sometimes from behind.
